Fetterman would be willing to confirm Dr. Oz — on one condition
Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, recently announced that he would support the confirmation of his former political rival, Dr. Mehmet Oz, to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as long as Oz commits to safeguarding these crucial government programs.
In a tweet, Fetterman stated, “If Dr. Oz is about protecting and preserving Medicare and Medicaid, I’m voting for the dude.” This endorsement comes despite Fetterman’s victory over Oz in Pennsylvania’s 2022 U.S. Senate race.
Fetterman emphasized that despite their political differences and past rivalry, he holds no animosity towards Oz. President-elect Donald Trump nominated Oz to head the CMS, an agency under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
