Beyoncé Named Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century by Billboard

Beyoncé has been crowned the greatest pop star of the 21st century by Billboard, as announced on Tuesday. According to Billboard’s Andrew Unterberger, Beyoncé’s influence, impact, and evolution over the past 25 years have solidified her position at the top of their editorial list.

The publication highlighted Beyoncé’s record-setting 32 Grammy wins and her continuous commitment to innovation and excellence as key factors in her ranking. With her latest album “Cowboy Carter” earning 11 Grammy nominations, Beyoncé is poised to add more trophies to her collection in the upcoming awards season.

Beyoncé’s success on Billboard’s charts is also noteworthy, with nine No. 1 songs and 24 top 10 hits on the Hot 100. Her eight albums have all reached the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 chart, starting with her debut solo album “Dangerously In Love” in 2003. Including her work with Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has a total of 11 solo albums that have secured a spot in the Billboard top 10.

Billboard has been unveiling their top 25 pop artists of the past 25 years, with Taylor Swift taking the second spot and Rihanna coming in third. Other artists in the top 10 include Adele, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and Drake.

The list also features Katy Perry at No. 25, along with Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Eminem, and Usher among others. These artists have been selected based on their influence and contributions to pop music since the start of the millennium.
