Toronto Raptors’ Scottie Barnes sprained right ankle

Scottie Barnes Suffers Sprained Ankle During Practice

The Toronto Raptors have officially announced that Scottie Barnes has sustained a sprained right ankle. The incident occurred during a practice session, where Barnes was seen wearing an air cast boot and using a cane at Scotiabank Arena.

According to a team spokesperson, the boot is being used solely for protective purposes. Head coach Darko Rajakovic revealed that X-rays taken after the Raptors’ recent game against the New York Knicks came back negative. However, further imaging will be conducted later today to assess the extent of the injury.

Scottie Barnes has been a key player for the Raptors this season, averaging impressive stats of 20.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists over 14 games. Unfortunately, this injury setback may impact his performance on the court.

Rajakovic also provided an update on starting point guard Immanuel Quickley, who is dealing with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. While Quickley’s injury is showing signs of healing, he has not yet been cleared for contact during gameplay.

The injury occurred during the game against the New York Knicks, where Barnes had to be assisted off the court in the third quarter. Despite his early exit, Barnes had managed to contribute 15 points, five rebounds, and three assists before the injury.

This is not the first time Barnes has faced adversity this season, as he previously missed 11 games due to a fractured orbital bone sustained from an accidental elbow to the face.

As the Raptors await further imaging results, fans are hopeful for a speedy recovery for Scottie Barnes, a crucial player for the team. Stay tuned for updates on his condition and return to the court.
