Montreal Roses sign hometown forward Latifah Abdu to Northern Super League deal

The Montreal Roses have made a significant addition to their roster by signing local forward Latifah Abdu to a contract. The Northern Super League team officially announced the deal on Tuesday, marking Abdu’s return to her hometown after spending time playing in France.
Abdu, 23, had previously played for Metz and Strasbourg in the second division before making the move to Dijon in the Premiere Ligue, France’s top flight. Last season, she registered two goals and three assists in 14 games for Dijon. In July, she signed with En Avant Guingamp and has already contributed two assists in nine games this season.
Not only has Abdu made a name for herself in France, but she also earned her first international cap for Canada during a friendly match against Australia on Dec. 1, 2023. Her talent and versatility on the field make her a valuable asset to the Roses FC squad.
In addition to Abdu, Roses FC has also welcomed veteran French international defensive midfielder Charlotte Bilbault and Canadian goalkeeper Gabrielle Lambert to the team. These signings demonstrate the club’s commitment to building a strong and competitive roster for the upcoming season.
As the team prepares for their debut in the Northern Super League, fans are eagerly anticipating their first match. The newly unveiled name and logo for Roses FC have generated excitement among supporters, but there are still some unanswered questions surrounding the club. Who else will join the team, and where will they play their home games? These details will undoubtedly be revealed in the coming weeks as the season approaches.
