Pamela Anderson Reflects on Personal Experience in “The Last Showgirl”
Pamela Anderson recently opened up about her deeply personal experience preparing for her role in “The Last Showgirl” during an episode of Variety’s “Actors on Actors.” The actress shared how she drew from her own life to inform her character in the Gia Coppola-directed drama.
Anderson revealed, “I was able to bring a lot of my own personal experience, my long life of dealing with beauty and glamour and aging and reassessing life choices.” She added, “I got to bring my whole life into this role.”
In the film, Anderson portrays Shelly, a Las Vegas showgirl whose long-running show comes to an abrupt end, prompting her to confront her future and make plans for it. The star-studded cast also includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, and Billie Lourd.
Reflecting on her role, Anderson also discussed the impact it had on her relationship with her two sons, Brandon and Dylan Lee, whom she shares with ex-husband Tommy Lee. She acknowledged the challenges of being a mother in the public eye and expressed gratitude for the understanding and support of her adult children.
Despite the introspection brought on by her role, Anderson shared that she is embracing the present moment and enjoying the freedom that comes with her children being grown. She expressed a sense of liberation and the opportunity to focus on herself and her own desires.
