Governor Abbott unveils new campaign exposing horrific dangers of illegal immigration
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has unveiled a new billboard campaign aimed at warning potential illegal immigrants about the dangers of human trafficking, violence, and peril they may face if they attempt to enter the U.S. unlawfully. The state plans to place dozens of billboards with cautionary messages in multiple languages across Mexico and Central America.
“We’re here to reveal the harsh reality to immigrants who are considering coming here, the reality of the traffickers who prey on so many women and children along the journey,” Governor Abbott stated. “The message is clear: Do not jeopardize your safety with a dangerous journey just to end up being arrested and deported.”
The billboards, written in Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic, will be strategically placed along migrant travel routes. Governor Abbott made the announcement at a ranch located on the southern border, standing next to a burned “rape tree” where migrant women have reportedly been assaulted. He emphasized that the billboards aim to educate potential illegal immigrants about the grim truth of what awaits them if they try to enter Texas illegally.
One of the billboards, written in Spanish, features an image of a young girl and poses the question, “How much did you pay to have your daughter raped?” Another billboard depicts a pregnant woman and bluntly states, “Your wife and daughter will pay for their trip with their bodies.”
Abbott criticized governments and private organizations that downplay the risks of crossing into Texas and stressed the state’s commitment to providing factual information to immigrants to save them from harm. He warned that there are serious consequences for those who attempt to enter Texas illegally and urged them to reconsider their plans.
The governor also expressed concern over the surge in illegal immigration under the Biden administration, calling it a “deadly situation” that he hopes will be addressed once President Trump takes office and implements measures to secure the border and restore safety to the immigration process.
In conclusion, Governor Abbott’s billboard campaign serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that illegal immigrants may face and aims to discourage them from embarking on perilous journeys that could result in harm. By spreading awareness through these billboards, Texas hopes to prevent further instances of human trafficking and violence along the border.
