House DOGE Caucus eyes federal employees, government regulations in new goal-setting memo

The Congressional Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus is gearing up for its second-ever meeting, where leaders are set to unveil a set of principles aimed at cutting government waste. The group outlined eight goals, a mix of practical and symbolic, to align with the DOGE advisory panel established by President-elect Donald Trump.
According to a draft memo obtained by Fox News Digital, the first principle emphasizes that the federal government must prioritize serving the interests of taxpayers through a lean, efficient, transparent, and accountable bureaucracy. The document also highlights the importance of addressing waste, fraud, abuse, duplication, and administrative bloat, regardless of their scale.
The caucus, co-led by Reps. Aaron Bean, Pete Sessions, and Blake Moore, is focusing on tackling low-hanging fruit, such as unused federal office space held by agencies with remote work policies. They are also calling for the elimination of federal agencies, programs, rules, regulations, or functions that do not provide value to taxpayers, if they cannot be reformed.
Additionally, the group is emphasizing the need to roll back the regulatory state, asserting that all rules and regulations should be grounded in statute rather than decided by unelected bureaucrats. Rep. Aaron Bean emphasized the caucus’s commitment to transparency and efficiency, while Rep. Pete Sessions reiterated the mandate for every dollar spent in Washington to deliver a direct benefit to the people it serves.
Vice Chair of the House GOP Conference Blake Moore, another co-chair of the DOGE Caucus, highlighted the group’s clear vision and outlined how they plan to rein in wasteful federal spending and make Washington more effective for Americans.
The push to slash government waste has garnered bipartisan support, with several Democrats already joining the caucus and attending the first meeting. Notable figures like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have also been involved in discussions with lawmakers about the goals of the DOGE panel.
As the DOGE Caucus continues its mission to promote government efficiency and accountability, its leaders are committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used wisely and that the federal bureaucracy operates in a transparent and effective manner. The principles outlined by the caucus reflect a dedication to streamlining government operations and delivering tangible benefits to the American people.
