President-elect Trump taps slew of administration picks days before inauguration

President-elect Trump made several key nominations just days before his upcoming inauguration on Jan. 20. In a series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump announced his picks and congratulated them.

One of the nominees is Chris Stallings, who has been chosen to serve as the assistant administrator for disaster recovery and resilience at the Small Business Administration. Stallings currently holds the position of director at the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency and will be working closely with Kelly Loeffler, the incoming small business administrator. Trump emphasized the importance of a quick and capable response from the government to protect small businesses in times of disasters.

Another notable nomination is Luke Lindberg, who has been selected as the U.S. undersecretary for trade and foreign agriculture affairs at the Department of Agriculture. Lindberg previously served as the chief of staff and chief strategy officer at the Export-Import Bank during Trump’s first term, where he received the Distinguished Service Award. He is currently the president and CEO of South Dakota Trade and a board member of the National Association of District Export Councils. Trump highlighted Lindberg’s role in ensuring American farmers and ranchers receive fair trade deals.

Troy Meink has been chosen to serve as the secretary of the Air Force. Meink currently works as the principal deputy director of the National Reconnaissance Office and has a background as a KC-135 tanker navigator. He also has experience as a test engineer for missile defense systems. Trump praised Meink for his dedication to making the Air Force the most effective and powerful force in the world.

Dudley Hoskins has been nominated as the undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs at the Department of Agriculture. Hoskins, who currently serves as counsel on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, previously worked at the Department of Agriculture during Trump’s first term. Trump expressed his confidence in Hoskins’ ability to work with the incoming Secretary of Agriculture to ensure the safety and healthiness of American food.

These nominations reflect Trump’s commitment to assembling a strong and capable team as he prepares to take office. The diverse backgrounds and expertise of the nominees suggest a focus on disaster recovery, trade agreements, military strength, and food safety.
