Parents of American murdered by Hamas ask Trump to get 76 hostages left home

The tragic story of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an American kidnapped from Israel and murdered by Hamas terrorists after 11 months in captivity, has deeply affected his parents, Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg-Polin. In a heartfelt video message shared on Instagram, the grieving parents made a plea to President Donald Trump and U.S. special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff following the release of three Israeli hostages – Eli Sharabi, Or Levy, and Ohad Ben Ami.
The emotional video shared on the “Bring.Hersh.Home” account, which has gained a large following, highlighted the connection between Or and Hersh, who were both kidnapped from the same bomb shelter on the same pickup truck on October 7, 2023. Or’s brother, Mikha’el, reached out to Hersh’s parents after his release, expressing his shock at learning about Hersh’s tragic fate.
Jon Polin directed his plea to President Trump and Mr. Witkoff, urging them to expedite the release of the remaining 76 hostages still in captivity. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, calling for all hostages to be freed this week to bring an end to the ongoing conflict. Rachel Goldberg-Polin added her support to the plea, urging swift action to bring the remaining hostages home.
The heartbreaking ordeal faced by the released hostages – Eli Sharabi, Or Levy, and Ohad Ben Ami – was evident as they returned to Israel. Sharabi learned upon his return that his wife and two daughters had been killed during the attack, while Levy was reunited with his 3-year-old son and sought answers about the fate of his wife. Ben Ami, a resident of Kibbutz Be’eri, expressed his need to catch up on the events that transpired on that tragic day.
The release of the three hostages marked the fifth swap of hostages for prisoners since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began in January. Despite the challenges and heartbreak faced by the families of the hostages, the hope for a resolution and the safe return of all remaining captives remains strong.
The tragic story of Hersh Goldberg-Polin serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the devastating impact it has on innocent lives. The plea made by his parents reflects the desperate need for swift action to bring an end to the suffering of those still in captivity. As the world watches and hopes for a resolution, the call for peace and the safe return of all hostages continues to resonate.
