Trump named as ‘dream’ guest for former NBA star’s podcast

President Donald Trump has been making the rounds in the election cycle, appearing on various podcasts that touch on a wide range of topics, including sports. Notably, Trump appeared on “Impaulsive” with Logan Paul and was also a guest on “Bussin’ With The Boys” with former NFL offensive lineman Taylor Lewan.
Now, it seems that another athlete is ready to host Trump on his podcast. Eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard recently expressed his desire to have Trump as a guest on his show, “Above the Rim.” Howard, who rose to fame with the Orlando Magic, referred to Trump as his “dream podcast guest” in a recent interview with “Front Office Sports.”
In the interview, Howard mentioned his interest in discussing Trump’s upbringing and how he navigated his way to becoming the President of the United States. He acknowledged the challenges of the presidency and the weight of the responsibilities that come with the role.
“I’m [not] taking up for any president or anything like that in history, but I’m just of the understanding that it is a very hard job. It’s like being a king in your own land, and you have so many people that you have to try to take care of,” Howard said.
Howard emphasized the importance of having genuine conversations with people to understand their true spirit and energy, beyond what is portrayed in the media. He expressed his curiosity in exploring the personal side of individuals, especially those in the public eye.
It is worth noting that former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson previously interviewed former Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 election, showcasing the intersection of sports and politics in the podcasting world.
Howard, along with other current and former NBA players, recently signed deals to bring their podcasts to the Blue Wire platform, further expanding the reach of sports-related content in the podcasting space.
As Trump continues to engage with various podcasts, it will be interesting to see if he accepts Howard’s invitation to appear on “Above the Rim” and share his insights on leadership, politics, and more. Stay tuned for updates on this potential podcast collaboration.
