Trump commutes prison sentence of Hunter Biden’s ‘fall guy’ Jason Galanis

President Donald Trump Commutes Sentence of Jason Galanis, Convicted Ex-Business Associate of Hunter Biden

President Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of Jason Galanis, a convicted ex-business associate of Hunter Biden, whom Trump officials described as the “fall guy” for the former first son’s business dealings. Galanis was sentenced in 2017 to 189 months, or 14 years, in prison after pleading guilty to securities fraud based on bonds issued by a company affiliated with a Native American tribe in South Dakota. The funds were reportedly meant for specific projects but were instead used for Galanis’s personal finances.

A Trump administration official told Fox News Digital that Galanis served eight years and eight months of his sentence and had an “unblemished record while in prison.” The official also revealed that Galanis was sexually assaulted by a security guard while incarcerated. Galanis had worked with Hunter Biden’s partner, Devon Archer, before pleading guilty to fraud.

According to the official, Galanis was considered the “fall guy” for Hunter Biden and Devon Archer and was extremely cooperative during the 2024 House impeachment inquiry into the Biden family. After serving nearly nine years in prison on good behavior, the administration felt it was time for Galanis to regain his liberty and return to his private life.

During his time in prison, Galanis testified about his involvement with Hunter Biden and Devon Archer between 2012 and 2015. He revealed that their business ventures included the acquisition of Burnham & Co, a division of Drexel Burnham Lambert, along with other businesses in insurance and wealth management. Galanis testified that the trio aimed to build a diversified private equity platform anchored by a well-known Wall Street brand and a prominent political name.

Galanis stated that Hunter Biden’s value to the business was primarily his family name and access to his father, Vice President Joe Biden. He testified that Joe Biden was considering joining the board of a joint venture created by Hunter Biden and his associates with ties to the Chinese Communist Party after leaving the vice presidency. Galanis highlighted that Joe Biden’s involvement would have provided significant political access in the United States and globally.

Meanwhile, Archer, another business associate of Hunter Biden, was implicated in a scheme that defrauded a Native American tribal entity and various investment advisory clients of tens of millions of dollars. Archer was convicted in 2018 but was pardoned by President Trump in March. Archer expressed gratitude to Trump for recognizing him as a victim of a convoluted legal effort to destroy and silence him.

Galanis and Archer testified during the House impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, where lawmakers found that Biden had engaged in impeachable conduct and defrauded the United States to enrich his family. Republicans alleged that the Biden family and their associates received substantial sums from foreign interests in exchange for access and influence with President Biden.

Before leaving office, President Biden issued a blanket pardon covering any offenses committed by Hunter Biden from 2014 to 2024. Biden defended his decision, stating that he would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making and expressed frustration over the selective prosecution of his son. He emphasized the relentless attacks on Hunter and himself, leading to his decision to grant the pardon.

In conclusion, the saga involving Jason Galanis, Hunter Biden, and Devon Archer spans over six years and sheds light on the complex web of business dealings and political connections. The commutation of Galanis’s sentence and the pardon of Archer raise questions about the ethical implications of their actions and the extent of political influence in business ventures.
