The action
The beauty of this house with four bedrooms on a plot of 1.87 hectares on Chandos Lake was unmistakable, but bad weather and a weak recreational real estate market led the sellers to shorten its original asking price from $ 3.25 million to $ 2.8 million.
“Selling properties to the water with winter photos is a challenge because people really want to see what it looks like, and you can’t say how deep it is or how the quality of the waterfront is,” said agent Maryrose Coleman.
“Because we are in a falling market, it was necessary to adjust prices.”
The building, about 2½ hours drive from Toronto, is next to 750 feet of environmentally friendly protection.
“It is a swampy area with many wildlife and birds,” said Mrs. Coleman. “For some, that is a disadvantage, because you can’t do a big sailing in that area. [But] If you are a stand-up paddleboarder, canotics, kayaker or swimmer, it is nice not to worry about people who are waving their jetskis in front of your dock. ”
The building was only purchased as a country in 2020 and was then developed as a new home.

“This has such strong influences of modern design from the middle of the century, but also Scandinavian design,” said Mrs. Coleman.
“Every room has a kind of view of the forest or the lake.”
