Iran threatens to use more powerful warheads against Israel in next attack: report

Iranian officials have issued a warning that they are planning the country’s next attack using more powerful warheads than any previously used weapons in strikes against Israel. Despite U.S. warnings against a counter-attack on the country, reports indicate that Iran is gearing up for a potentially devastating response.

The recent escalation began when Israel launched an attack on Iran on Oct. 26, targeting critical military infrastructure in retaliation for a wave of about 200 missiles launched from Iran into Israel on Oct. 1. Israeli officials have refrained from striking oil and nuclear facilities in Iran, which are essential to its security. However, they have indicated that this strategy could change in the future.

According to reports, Iranian and Arab diplomats have suggested that Iran’s conventional army could be involved in future attacks against Israel. While this does not necessarily mean deploying troops, it could indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, which typically handles Israeli security measures, may not act alone in any upcoming confrontations.

Arab and Iranian officials have also hinted that Iran’s response to future attacks will not be limited to drones and missiles. They have suggested that any missiles used in future strikes will be equipped with more powerful warheads, potentially increasing the destruction caused by these attacks.

The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) senior fellow Behnam Ben Taleblu has warned that any successful strike against Iran could be seen as a provocation by the Iranian regime, leading to further escalations. Taleblu emphasized that Iran still possesses the capability to respond with more powerful projectiles and heavier warheads than in previous attacks against Israel.

Iran has also issued threats regarding its nuclear capabilities. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed a “tooth-breaking” response to actions by both Israel and the U.S. Iranian officials, including top adviser Kamal Kharrazi, have suggested that Iran may be prepared to alter its policies on using nuclear weapons if the nation faces an existential threat.

Despite these threats, it remains to be seen how Iran will proceed. Reports indicate that any response to Israel’s recent attack may come after the U.S. election on Tuesday, but before the winner is inaugurated in January. Iranian officials have stated that they do not want to influence the election with their actions.

The situation in the region remains volatile, with the potential for further escalations between Iran and Israel. The international community will be closely monitoring developments to prevent any further destabilization in the Middle East.
