Alberta issues invitations to register under the Legal Enforcement Path

New Focus on Law Enforcement Professionals in Alberta’s Provincial Nominated Program
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has once again put the spotlight on professionals in the field of law enforcement with its latest draw.
This recent draw, which took place from August 13-20, marked the fifth trek under the law enforcement route for the AAIP in 2025.
Highlights of the Draw
On August 19, the AAIP issued invitations via the Alberta Express Entry Stream specifically for the law enforcement route.
Less than 10 invitations were extended during this draw, with a minimum score requirement of 45 – one of the lowest cutoff scores for an AAIP draw this year.
Aside from the law enforcement path, the Alberta Express Entry Stream also offers invitations based on priority sectors and three special paths:
- The special health care path
- The accelerated technical path
- The law enforcement path
Understanding Alberta’s Law Enforcement Path
The law enforcement path was introduced by the AAIP in June 2024 to support local police services in addressing crime and meeting their recruitment goals.
To be eligible for this path, candidates must have a job offer from an Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police Member and meet all other specified criteria.
Professions eligible for nomination include:
- Sworn and non-sworn police officers and other public protection service roles
- Police investigators and other investigative positions
- Specialized law enforcement roles
Upcoming Invitations via the Law Enforcement Path
As of August 27, the AAIP provided an update on the nominations for the law enforcement path:
