Alberta has the biggest draw of the year, invites hundreds of candidates for provincial immigration

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) recently conducted its largest draw of 2025, issuing a total of 581 invitations to apply through the Alberta Opportunity Stream. Additionally, draws were held for the Health Care Route under both express entry and non-express entry options, resulting in a total of 683 invitations being issued across these three draws.
Summary of Draws (7 – 15 August)
During the week of August 7 to August 15, the AAIP conducted three draws, with the largest draw taking place on August 12. The table below provides a breakdown of the minimum scores required for each draw and the number of invitations issued:
– Alberta Opportunity Stream: Minimum score of 70, with 581 invitations issued
– Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Non-Express Entry: Minimum score of 53, with 39 invitations issued
– Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Express Entry: Minimum score of 56, with 63 invitations issued
The Alberta Opportunity Stream is designed for temporary foreign workers who are employed full-time in Alberta and have a job offer in an eligible occupation. The Health Care Route offers a pathway to permanent residence for individuals with job offers in qualifying healthcare occupations, with options for both express entry and non-express entry applicants.
As of August 15, the AAIP has issued 3,251 nominations out of its 4,875 allocation for the year, leaving 1,624 nomination spots available. The table below provides an overview of the nominations issued, remaining allocations, and EOIs in the candidate pool for each stream:
– Alberta Opportunity Stream: 1,776 nominations issued out of 2,592 allocated, with 816 spots remaining and 41,301 EOIs in the candidate pool
– Dedicated Healthcare Pathway: 293 nominations issued out of 500 allocated, with 207 spots remaining and 1,689 EOIs in the candidate pool
