Bernie Sanders compares Trump, Musk and other ‘oligarchs’ to ‘heroin addicts’

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., did not hold back during a recent rally in Idaho, where he took aim at President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, accusing them of undermining democracy. Speaking at the “Fight The Oligarchy” rally alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Sanders likened the billionaire “oligarchs” in both parties to “heroin addicts” addicted to greed.
Sanders called out Trump for his close ties to wealthy individuals like Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, whom he referred to as “oligarchs.” He criticized their insatiable greed and disregard for the well-being of others in their pursuit of wealth. Sanders emphasized the need to address the addiction to greed among these billionaires and vowed to tackle their influence on democracy.
Both Sanders and AOC highlighted the concentration of power, greed, and corruption in America, which they described as oligarchy. They pointed to the inauguration of President Trump, where billionaires like Bezos, Zuckerberg, and Musk were prominently seated, as a stark example of the influence of the wealthy elite in politics.
The rally served as a platform for Sanders and AOC to rally support for action against the oligarchy. They called on the people to stand up against authoritarian regimes and resist the influence of big money in politics. AOC emphasized the importance of grassroots organizing and citizen engagement in upholding democracy and fighting for justice.
In a passionate plea to the crowd, AOC urged the people of Idaho to choose democracy, freedom, and justice over the power of the oligarchy. She emphasized the role of ordinary citizens in safeguarding democracy and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard above the influence of wealthy elites.
The “Fight The Oligarchy” rally was a call to action against the growing influence of billionaires in politics and a declaration of support for a more equitable and just society. Sanders and AOC’s message resonated with the crowd, inspiring them to take a stand against the forces of greed and corruption that threaten the foundations of democracy.
Overall, the rally was a powerful demonstration of grassroots activism and a reminder that democracy is upheld not by institutions alone, but by the collective will of the people to fight for a better future.
