Bianca Andreescu, Milos Raonic eliminated at Libema Open

‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, The Netherlands –

The Canadian Bianca Andreescu and Milos Raonic lost their matches in the second round at the Libema Open on Thursday.

Andreescu was eliminated after dropping a 7-6 (6), 6-3 decision to Slovakia’s Viktoria Hruncakova. Australia’s Jordan Thompson defeated Raonic 7-6 (4), 6-1 later in the day in the outdoor grass court event.

Andreescu, from Mississauga, Ontario, had chances, but converted only two of her 16 break point chances. The world number 37 was the number 6 seed at the WTA 250 tournament.

The unseeded Hruncakova, the number 105 in the world, will then face American Ashlyn Krueger in the quarterfinals.

Raonic, from Thornhill, Ontario, made a successful return to the ATP Tour earlier this week with a first-round victory over Serb Miomir Kecmanovic.

It was the Canadian’s first competitive game in almost two years. The 32-year-old had been away from the Tour recovering from Achilles tendon and toe injuries.
