Top coordinator of left-wing group attends notorious antisemite’s annual gathering

A top coordinator at a prominent left-wing nonprofit made headlines over the weekend after attending the Nation of Islam’s annual Saviours’ Day commemoration in Chicago. Terence Muhammad, who serves on the national leadership team of the Hip Hop Caucus as the events and field coordinator, posted several times on social media about his attendance at the controversial event and urged his followers to donate to the Nation of Islam if they have been impacted by Louis Farrakhan’s message.

Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, has a history of making antisemitic and racist remarks that have drawn condemnation from organizations like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). In past Saviours’ Day speeches, Farrakhan has referred to Jews as “satanic” and “termites,” and has made derogatory comments about White people.

Despite Farrakhan’s divisive rhetoric, Muhammad has openly expressed admiration for him on social media, posting photos of himself with Farrakhan and describing him as a “beautiful, loving, kind, and deeply spiritual Divine Man of God.” Muhammad’s public support for Farrakhan has raised concerns among critics, who question his alignment with an organization that has been labeled a hate group by the SPLC.

In addition to Muhammad, Hip Hop Caucus President and CEO Lennox Yearwood has also expressed gratitude to Farrakhan for allowing Muhammad to be part of the organization. Yearwood, who has visited the Biden White House multiple times, has referred to Muhammad as one of Farrakhan’s “top soldiers” in past social media posts.

The Hip Hop Caucus, which has received millions of dollars in grants from left-wing nonprofits and has collaborated with top Democrats in Congress, has distanced itself from Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam in the past. However, Muhammad’s recent attendance at Saviours’ Day has reignited concerns about the organization’s ties to Farrakhan and his controversial beliefs.

Following inquiries from Fox News Digital, Muhammad locked down his social media accounts and the Hip Hop Caucus removed the “team” section from its website, where visitors could view the bios of the leadership team. The organization reiterated its condemnation of antisemitism and hate but did not address Muhammad’s involvement with the Nation of Islam.

As the fallout from Muhammad’s attendance at Saviours’ Day continues to unfold, questions remain about the Hip Hop Caucus’s relationship with Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, and the implications of its leaders’ public support for a figure known for promoting divisive and harmful rhetoric.
