Prime Minister Mark Carney added on Friday to Canada’s international conviction of Israel’s plan to take over Gaza City, and said that this would be wrong and would not improve the humanitarian situation on the ground or help the remaining hostages.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his government will intensify her 22-month war with Hamas by pushing the largest urban area of the territory.

Mr Netanyahu said that more military pressure is needed to free the goals of Israel to free the hostages and to destroy Hamas, a decision that he took the reported objections of at least one senior military leader.

But Mr Carney, together with leaders of European and Arab states, said that the move would undermine the efforts for peace.

“We join others, many others, if we consider that this is wrong, that this action will not contribute to an improvement in the humanitarian situation on the spot, it will bring the lives of hostages with a greater risk instead of reducing it,” said Mr. Carney after a non -related announcement in Trenton.

“We repeat our call for an immediate stop -the fire. We repeat our call to Hamas to immediately return all hostages and their remains. We repeat that Hamas has no role in the future, and we will continue to collaborate with our allies to contribute to contributing to achieving those results.”

Chancellor Friedrich Merz van Germany said that his country would not export military equipment that could be used “until further cancellation” in Gaza, an important step and a break with the post -war support of the country for Israel.

Mr. Merz emphasized that Israel has ‘the right to defend himself against Hamas’ Terror ‘and said that the release of Israeli hostages and’ goal -oriented ‘negotiations to a cease -the -fires’ are our top priority.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer insisted on the Israeli government to reconsider.

“This action will do nothing to put an end to this conflict or to help secure the release of hostages. It will only bring more bloodshed,” he said.

Hamas guided militants caused the war when they stormed in Israel on October 7, 2023, killing around 1200 people and kidnapped 251 others.

Most hostages are released in cease -the fire or other deals, but 50 remain in Gaza. Israel believes that about 20 of them live.

Israel’s retaliation campaign has killed more than 61,000 Palestinians, according to the Health Minister of Gaza, which does not say how many hunters or citizens were. The ministry is part of the government run by Hamas and staffed by medical professionals.

Israël already checks around 75 percent of Gaza, with the majority of the population of around two million Palestinians now hid in Gaza City.

The army “will prepare to take control of Gaza City and at the same time offer humanitarian aid to the civilian population outside the battle zones,” said Mr Netanyahu’s office in a statement after a meeting of the Security Cabinet on Friday.

An official who is familiar with the plans to take over the city of Gaza, The Associated Press told that the operation would be “gradual” and that there is no start date. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

Hamas rejected Israel’s plans. “Expanding aggression to our Palestinian people will not be a walk in the park,” the group said in a statement.

Ruby Chen, a double US-Israeli citizen whose son, Itay, is a hostage in Gaza, told The Associated Press that the decision endangers the remaining hostages.

“What is the plan that is different from the last 22 months?” he said.

In recent days, Palestinian militants have released videos with merged hostages and say they are undergoing the same hunger as the Palestinian population.

Hamas is supposed to keep the hostages in tunnels and other secret locations and has shy that it will kill them when Israeli troops come close.

Carney’s policy shift to the Palestinian state had a cautious hope, criticism by Canadians

The military staff chief of Israel, Lieutenant -General Eyal Zamir, reportedly claimed during a security cabinet meeting that a more radical plan to re -assume the whole of Gaza would jeopardize the hostages and endanger the hostages after two years of regional wars.

Mediators from Egypt and Qatar work on a new framework that will include the release of all hostages – death and alive – in exchange for an end of the war in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the comic, two Arab officials told the Associated Press.

The efforts are the support of Grote Arabian Golf monarchies, the officials said because they are concerned about further regional destabilization when the Israel’s government goes with a complete residence of Gaza, two decades after the one -sided withdrawal of Israel from the comic.

The framework to be completed is intended to tackle the controversial problem of what to do with Hamas’s weapons, where Israel is looking for full disarmament and Hamas refuses. The civil servant who is directly involved in the efforts, said there are discussions about ‘freezing weapons’, where Hamas can be retained but does not use his weapons. It also calls for the group to give up power in the comic.

A Palestinian Arab Commission would lead Gaza and supervise the reconstruction efforts to establish a Palestinian government with a new police, trained by two American allies in the Middle East, to take over the comic, he said. It is unclear what role the Palestinian authority, supported by Western, would play.

Last week Mr Carney announced that Canada is planning to recognize a Palestinian state in the General Assembly of the United Nations of September, based on the dedication of the Palestinian authority of reforms.

He mentioned actions of both Hamas and the Israeli government, including the constant humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

His announcement followed similar by France and Great Britain.
