Trump Cabinet: Ratcliffe says CIA restructured to eliminate ‘politicization’

President Donald Trump’s administration is undergoing a significant restructuring, with CIA Director John Ratcliffe leading the charge to eliminate the “well-documented politicization” of the agency. During a recent Cabinet meeting, Ratcliffe praised Trump for his leadership in advancing national security priorities and foreign policy objectives through covert actions around the world.

Ratcliffe, unable to divulge classified information publicly, commended Trump for his positive impact on America’s national security posture. He highlighted the CIA’s role in advancing peace, combating terrorism, and preventing illicit drugs from entering the country. Despite the limitations on what could be shared with the public, Ratcliffe assured Trump that his accomplishments were substantial and had made Americans safer.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also addressed efforts to combat politicization within the intelligence community. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the intelligence community in ending the weaponization of intelligence. Gabbard emphasized the importance of building a lean, agile, and effective intelligence community focused on delivering safety, security, and freedom to the American people.

Gabbard revealed that criminal referrals for illegal leaks of classified intelligence to the media were being pursued, with numerous security clearances revoked and documents declassified at Trump’s direction. Efforts were also underway to declassify documents related to historic events such as the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

In addition, investigations were ongoing into issues surrounding election integrity, FISA abuses, and the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Trump’s executive order to declassify files related to the Crossfire Hurricane probe was a significant step in bringing transparency and accountability to these matters.

The CIA’s intelligence played a crucial role in apprehending the bomber, bringing a measure of justice to the victims’ families.

Trump reiterated his condemnation of the Biden administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and the Abbey Gate bombing, emphasizing the importance of holding those responsible accountable. The arrest and prosecution of ISIS-K member Mohammad Sharifullah, implicated in the attack, were significant steps towards achieving justice for the victims.

Ratcliffe also highlighted the CIA’s successful negotiations for the release of Americans wrongfully detained abroad, demonstrating Trump’s commitment to ensuring the return of all unfairly held Americans. The administration’s efforts in advancing national security and protecting American interests were evident in these actions.

The ongoing restructuring of the administration under Trump’s leadership, with a focus on core missions and eliminating politicization, reflects a commitment to making America safe again. The dedication of intelligence and security agencies to upholding transparency, accountability, and justice is crucial in safeguarding the nation’s interests and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
