Colorado drug bust uncovers illegal aliens in cartel, over 130k fentanyl pills

A recent drug bust near Denver, Colorado, led to the arrest of two cartel-connected illegal aliens and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, including a significant stash of fentanyl pills. The operation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Rocky Mountain Field Division (RMFD) and the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, who executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in the Denver area.

Videos shared on the RMFD’s social media account depicted law enforcement officers approaching and entering a first-level apartment as part of the operation. The raid uncovered two illegal aliens with ties to the Sinaloa and Jalisco Mexican cartels, as well as approximately 130,000 fentanyl pills, along with cocaine, meth, and heroin. The two men, who were not named, were taken into custody.

The RMFD captioned one of its videos from the bust with a message to criminals, warning them that the next door law enforcement kicks in could be theirs. This operation came on the heels of another DEA raid the day before, where dozens of illegal aliens were detained after a makeshift nightclub in the Denver area associated with the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua was targeted.

Since President Donald Trump assumed office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids have led to the detention of thousands of illegal aliens across the country. On the day of the Denver drug bust, ICE reported 1,179 arrests and 853 immigration detainers being issued. The Trump administration has been pushing for an increase in daily ICE arrests from a few hundred to between 1,200 and 1,500 individuals.
