The House Oversight Committee Chairman, Rep. James Comer, sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent requesting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) concerning Jeffrey Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Comer’s letter, sent on Sunday, mentioned the committee’s review of potential mismanagement in the federal government’s investigation of Epstein and Maxwell, including Epstein’s controversial death.

The Treasury Department has been given a deadline of September 15 to provide the relevant SARs. The letter emphasized the importance of these reports in assisting the committee’s oversight of the enforcement of sex trafficking laws and the handling of the Epstein and Maxwell case.

Fox News Digital contacted the Treasury Department for a response to the letter but has not received an immediate reply. Comer’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets previously requested the Department of Justice to release all Epstein-related records, with the DOJ starting to provide records to the committee in August.

Deposition subpoenas have been issued by Comer to several former government officials, including Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Robert Mueller, James Comey, and Loretta Lynch. Mueller, scheduled to appear before the committee, had to withdraw due to health issues, making him the second witness to cancel after Former Attorney General Bill Barr.
