Texas man crashes car at 100 mph, flees scene leaving family in ditch

Houston Police are currently on the lookout for a man who was involved in a high-speed crash that left his family injured. The incident occurred when the man, driving a Ford Expedition with his wife and four children, collided with a pickup truck on Yale Street. The collision caused the Expedition to flip and land in a ditch, leaving the family trapped inside.
Surveillance footage captured the moment when the Expedition, traveling at around 100 miles per hour, was cut off by a Chevy Avalanche truck, leading to the crash. The impact was so severe that an 8-year-old child was ejected from the vehicle, while the other children, all toddlers, sustained injuries.
While the occupants of the pickup truck escaped unscathed, the driver of the SUV fled the scene, leaving his injured family behind. Two of the family members are in serious condition, while the other three are in critical condition and have been hospitalized for treatment.
Authorities are currently searching for the driver of the Expedition, who reportedly fled the scene and was picked up by another vehicle. Captain Ryan Watson expressed confusion over the driver’s actions, stating, “I have no idea what’s going through his mind at the time. I don’t know if there was some other reason that he felt he needed to flee.” Police are actively pursuing leads to locate the driver and gather more information about the incident.
The Houston Police Department is urging anyone with information about the driver or the crash to come forward. The search for the driver is ongoing, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
