Dartmouth grocery store robber threatened staff with knife, sensory irritant: HRP

DARTMOUTH, N.S. — Police are searching for a man who robbed a Dartmouth grocery store and threatened staff while armed on Wednesday.

Halifax Regional Police said a man stole products from the No Frills at 118 Wyse Rd. just before 2:30 p.m. and threatened staff with a knife and what police called a sensory irritant when approached.

The culprit then left the store with the stolen goods in a green reusable shopping bag. The staff member was not injured.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, standing around 5’7″ tall with light blonde facial hair and a thin build.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark baseball hat, red T-shirt and dark pants.

He was last seen fleeing the area on a red bike.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident, video from the area or who know the man’s identity to call 902-490-5016 or tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
