WORK WORKS ON THE EXPRANT PHASE OF THE EXPANSION OF HALIFAX INFIRMIRY

Excavation Phase Completed for QEII Halifax Infirmary Acute Care Tower
Construction work on the QEII Halifax Infirmary Acute Care Tower has achieved a significant milestone as the Nova Scotia government marks the successful completion of the excavation phase.
Since May 2024, dedicated crews have been diligently working on the site, removing a staggering 543 thousand tons of earth and rock as the project progresses towards completion.
In addition to the excavation work, structures such as a former parkade at the main entrance have been demolished and cleared from the area to make way for the new facilities.
With the excavation phase now behind them, the focus will shift towards preparing the foundation and initiating the mechanical and electrical components of the project.
The government has set a target for the facility to be fully operational and open to patients by the year 2031, providing much-needed healthcare services to the community.
