Nova Scotia RCMP are investigating the death of a 66-year-old man from Virginia East in Annapolis County as a homicide.

Police say they responded to a report of a sudden death at around 8:20 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Southwest Nova RCMP crime unit is investigating, with support from the medical examiner service and several other RCMP departments.

Virginia East is about 15 kilometres south of Annapolis Royal.

Police say the investigation is just beginning and no further information will be released at this time.
