Delta first class menu: Shake Shack cheeseburgers
Delta Air Lines Partners with Shake Shack to Offer Fast Food in First Class
NEW YORK –
Delta Air Lines is shaking up its first-class dining experience with a new partnership that brings fast food to the skies. The airline has announced a collaboration with Shake Shack to serve the chain’s famous cheeseburgers to first-class passengers on long-distance domestic flights, starting from December 1. The service will initially be available on flights out of Delta’s hub in Boston, with plans to expand to other cities by 2025.
This unique partnership reflects the trend of airlines enhancing their onboard dining options to cater to the evolving tastes of passengers post-pandemic. In the past, Alaska Airlines introduced a specially crafted coffee blend for in-flight enjoyment, while United Airlines added Illy cold brew coffee to their menu.
While Delta won’t be grilling burgers mid-air, the Shake Shack cheeseburgers will be prepared on the ground according to the chain’s specifications and reheated onboard. Passengers will have the option to customize their burgers with toppings like pickles, lettuce, and ShackSauce, all served on the side.
In addition to the cheeseburgers, passengers will also receive a side of potato chips, a small Caesar salad, and a chocolate brownie inspired by Shake Shack’s popular dessert offerings. Stephanie Laster, Delta’s managing director of onboard service, expressed excitement about elevating the dining experience with Shake Shack’s iconic comfort food.
Delta’s partnership with Shake Shack expands its collaboration with renowned chef Danny Meyer, the founder of the burger chain. Meyer, who also operates Union Square Hospitality Group, has previously contributed menu items for Delta flights.
This move follows Delta’s success in serving generic cheeseburgers in first class, with positive reviews from passengers. Notably, Delta is not the first airline to team up with a burger chain, as United Airlines famously offered McDonald’s Happy Meals in the 1990s.
