Democratic Lawmakers Call for Gun Control After Tragic Shooting at Minneapolis School

In the aftermath of a deadly shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers are renewing their calls for stricter gun control measures.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) expressed his horror at the incident, stating, “Students and teachers should not be putting their lives on the line just by going back to school. We must do more to stop gun violence in America.”

Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) also voiced his shock at the shooting and emphasized the need for sensible gun control laws to prevent future tragedies.

The Richfield Police Department confirmed that the shooting resulted in multiple casualties, including the tragic deaths of two children aged 8 and 10. The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, is deceased.

Minnesota lawmakers, including House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), offered their prayers and support to the victims and their families in the wake of the tragedy.
While some lawmakers emphasized the need for gun control legislation, others focused on expressing condolences and support for the affected community.
