Trump names Bill Briggs and Ed Russo for Cabinet spots

President-elect Trump made headlines once again with his latest Cabinet picks as his January 20th inauguration draws closer. In an announcement on Friday evening, Trump revealed that Bill Briggs would be taking on the role of Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. If confirmed, Briggs will work alongside Kelly Loeffler, Trump’s choice for SBA Administrator.

“Bill is a seasoned businessman who previously served in my First Term as the Acting Associate Administrator in the Office of Capital Access at SBA,” Trump stated. “During his time in this role, Bill played a key role in overseeing our Historic Paycheck Protection Program, which was instrumental in saving numerous small businesses and millions of jobs.”

In addition to Briggs, Trump also named Ed Russo as the head of the Environmental Advisory Task Force. Trump emphasized the importance of clean air and clean water policies, stating that Russo’s expertise will be crucial in advising the administration on initiatives to create jobs and protect natural resources.

As Trump continues to finalize his Cabinet picks, the nominations of Briggs and Russo signal his commitment to building a team that will prioritize economic growth and environmental protection. The Republican-controlled U.S. Senate will soon begin hearings for Trump’s nominees, with Republicans holding 53 seats to the Democrats’ 47. The upcoming swearing-in of Senator-elect Jim Justice of West Virginia and the appointment of a senator to fill Vice President-elect Vance’s seat in Ohio will further solidify Republican control of the Senate.

As the inauguration date approaches, Trump is focused on assembling a team that will support his vision for American energy dominance, economic recovery, and environmental stewardship. Stay tuned for more updates on Trump’s Cabinet picks and the upcoming Senate hearings.
