Evacuation orders, warnings issued for properties south of Smithers, BC, due to wildfires

A wildfire near Smithers in northwestern BC has placed dozens of properties on evacuation orders and hundreds placed on evacuation alerts.
This is reported by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). the Powers Creek fire three kilometers south of the city covers an area of 20 hectares from Saturday morning.
In a tweet on Friday night, the BCWS said the fire was spreading fairly quickly and multiple heavy equipment — including aerial assets — would work to contain it overnight.

A evacuation alarm According to the regional district, there are 206 buildings in the vicinity of the fire.
The district also issued evacuation warnings for a fire southeast of the Powers Creek fire along Highway 16.
That is what the BCWS said on Friday the forest fire of Lake Tatin showed a high rate of dispersal and covered a six-acre area north of Highway 16.

The evacuation alarm occupies nine properties north of the Endako River, accessed from Savory Road.
There are currently six “significant fires” – those that are particularly visible or pose a threat to public safety – burning across the county.
While the majority of them are in northern BC, the Davis Lake fire east of Mission in the Fraser Valley sparked public warnings on Friday.
The increase in fire activity comes as a heat warning covers the Central Coast interior, the North Coast and much of the interior.
Environment Canada says extreme heat is expected to continue into early next week.
Special weather reports also warn of poor air quality due to wildfire smoke in the northern and central interior.
An evacuation alert means residents should prepare to evacuate their homes, possibly with little to no notice. An eviction notice means that a resident must leave immediately.
