Fire at a motel in Dartmouth displaces six people, one to hospital

DARTMOUTH, NS — A nighttime fire that broke out on June 15 at the Lake City Motel in Dartmouth has driven six tenants from their homes.

Five of them are now staying in the emergency shelter of the Canadian Red Cross while cleaning and repairs are carried out.

Another resident was taken to hospital. The Red Cross said they will be given shelter once they are released.

The fire, which broke out at 3 a.m., did not affect other areas of the motel on Lakecrest Drive.
