Liberals call for cancellation of government contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink

Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie has taken a strong stance against the government’s $100 million contract with Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet company.

“If he were serious about standing up to Trump, he would cancel his sweetheart deal with Elon Musk,” Crombie stated in a recent news release.

(For those not following U.S. politics, Musk has aligned himself closely with Trump.)

In response to Crombie’s comments, Premier Ford defended the contract, emphasizing the transparent bidding process that led to its approval. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to providing high-speed internet access to all residents of the province.

During his remarks, Ford pointed out Crombie’s use of Musk’s social media platform, Twitter, as a form of irony in her criticism of the contract.

It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether any changes will be made to the existing agreement.
