Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy dies in apparent suicide during police chase, authorities say

Former Louisiana State University receiver Kyren Lacy tragically passed away at the young age of 24 in an apparent suicide while being pursued by authorities in Houston. According to a report released by the Harrison County sheriff’s office, Lacy was facing criminal charges related to a fatal car accident that occurred in Louisiana last December, which had cast a shadow over his NFL aspirations.

The pursuit of Lacy by Harris County authorities came to a devastating end when Lacy crashed his car. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers discovered that Lacy had taken his own life. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

State Police Troop C in Gray, Louisiana, reported that Lacy fled the scene of the accident without seeking help, leading to charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle against him. Despite his legal troubles, Lacy had a successful season with LSU, playing in 12 games, recording 58 catches, and accumulating 866 receiving yards.
