Girl seriously injured after being hit by a crosswalk in Halifax

Halifax Regional Police say a young girl was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Halifax on Wednesday night.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the Gottingen Street intersection at Uniacke Square at 6:47 pm. According to the police, the child crossed Göttingenstraat on a pedestrian crossing and was hit by a van.

The police are still investigating. Traffic on Gottingen Street between Buddy Daye and Charles Street was closed for about two and a half hours while police worked on the scene.
