Several cars in crash on icy Highway 102 bridge near Elmsdale
RCMP say there were no serious injuries in a crash on Highway 102 near Elmsdale during the rush hour Tuesday morning.
Cpl. Chris Marshall said several vehicles were involved in the crash in the Halifax-bound lanes just after 7 a.m. He didn’t have an exact number, but some photos posted on social media appeared to show at least five vehicles stopped.
Marshall said the crash happened on a temporary bridge in a construction area between Elmsdale and Enfield.

Road conditions were icy at the time. Temperatures dipped below freezing in some parts of the province and there was also fog, making for some less than ideal driving conditions.
Traffic was slowed in the area while the cars were cleared away. Some motorists detoured onto Highway 2, slowing traffic there as well.
Both lanes were open again shortly before 9 a.m.
