GOP senator has message for seniors on Social Security and Medicare
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is pushing back against accusations from Democrats that Republicans are looking to slash Social Security and Medicare benefits for seniors. One of the key initiatives she is championing is the RETIREES FIRST Act, which aims to increase the income threshold for individuals required to pay federal taxes on their Social Security benefits. However, Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, refuted claims that benefits for current recipients are being reduced.
