Halifax climate plan HalifACT ‘at risk’ of failing

While there were some positive developments, such as the city’s progress in reducing emissions and the power purchasing agreement with Renewall Energy, there are still significant challenges ahead. The city needs to focus on implementing the plans it has already developed and updating its strategies to address the rapidly changing climate crisis. With the world on track to exceed the 1.5-degree temperature rise target by 2030, Halifax, like many cities, must urgently reassess its priorities and take bold action to prevent climate breakdown and protect the future of its residents.
