Children’s author says his faith-based books are a way to fight the culture war: ‘Kids are on the frontline’

As Easter serves as a reminder of renewal and hope for many in the Christian faith, bestselling author Anthony DeStefano warns that the culture war and the fight for family values isn’t over. DeStefano is renowned for his Christian-themed books for adults and children, bringing Biblical stories to life through vivid storytelling. His latest children’s book, “From Bread and Wine to Saints Divine,” introduces kids to the Eucharist—a central element of Catholic and Orthodox communion—in a simple and accessible way.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, DeStefano emphasized the importance of protecting children from ideological propaganda pushed by the woke left. He highlighted that while American voters have rejected physical mutilation of children’s bodies, the entertainment industry is determined to mutilate their minds and souls through woke ideology. DeStefano’s works, published in 18 countries and translated into 12 languages, aim to instill timeless traditional values in children amidst the secular messages bombarding them.

DeStefano’s journey to becoming a children’s book author was influenced by his high school English teacher, Frank McCourt, who assigned him to write children’s books. Initially aspiring to be a surgeon, DeStefano found a deeper connection to the Catholic faith in his twenties, inspired by the writings of C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton. This led him to combine his desire to be a writer and a healer through his writing.

In 2018, DeStefano ventured into writing for adults with “Inside the Atheist Mind: Unmasking the Religion of Those Who Say There Is No God,” which faced backlash from critics. However, he views such attacks as a sign of doing meaningful work in countering the prevailing moral relativism. DeStefano believes that restoring objective truth of family values and faith is crucial in rejecting the secular messages dominating society.

As Easter celebrates the resurrection and the triumph of light over darkness, DeStefano encourages pushing back against the lies being fed to society. He emphasizes that the same power that rolled away the stone on Easter morning is available to those standing up against falsehoods. In a time where children represent the front lines in the cultural war, DeStefano’s mission is to provide children with books that uphold timeless values and counterbalance secular influences.
