US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met almost three hours on 15 August on a military base in Alaska as part of a US -led attempt to bring Russia and Ukraine into peace talks.

Trump was accompanied by State Secretary Marco Rubio and special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, and Putin was accompanied by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and adviser for Foreign Affairs Yuri Ushakov.
