ICE arrests over 200 illegal aliens in New York City’s ‘most crime-infested neighborhoods’

In a recent “enhanced immigration enforcement operation” conducted by ICE and several federal law enforcement agencies, over 200 illegal aliens were arrested in the “most crime-infested neighborhoods” in and around New York City in just one week this month. According to a statement released by ICE on Wednesday, the majority of the apprehended individuals have “egregious criminal histories to include manslaughter, rape, assault, drug trafficking and sex assault against minors.”
The operation, which took place between April 6-12, targeted “egregious criminal alien offenders,” including members of transnational criminal organizations such as MS-13, Tren de Aragua, SureƱos, and 18th Street gangs. Many of the arrests were made after local authorities in New York refused to honor immigration detainers filed by ICE and instead released the illegal immigrants back into the community.
Out of the 206 individuals arrested, 121 had major criminal convictions or are currently facing charges for serious crimes such as murder, assault, arson, sex crimes, drug crimes, and firearms offenses. Among those arrested was a 58-year-old Mexican national named Adnan Paulino-Flores, who has a criminal history that includes arrests for sexual abuse and subjecting another person to sexual contact without consent.
Another individual, a 51-year-old illegal immigrant from Ecuador named Jaime Gustavo Quizpi-Romero, has a criminal history that includes assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and strangulation. Luis Olmedo Quishpi-Poalasin, a 35-year-old Ecuadoran illegal, has convictions for rape, sexual abuse, unlawful imprisonment, and communicating threats.
Edimar Alejandra Colmenares Mendoza, a 22-year-old Venezuelan illegal immigrant and member of the Tren de Aragua gang, was also arrested during the operation. Charges against Mendoza include conspiracy, larceny, and possession of stolen property.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed support for ICE’s arrests of criminal illegal immigrants, stating that it is important to remove dangerous individuals from the streets. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons emphasized the agency’s commitment to public safety and removing illegal alien offenders from communities throughout the nation.
The success of this operation highlights the dedication of ICE and its federal partners in keeping the country safe from violent criminal aliens. The actions taken by law enforcement agencies aim to prioritize public safety and ensure that communities are protected from individuals with egregious criminal histories.
