ICE arrests ‘worst of the worst’ criminal illegal aliens in Los Angeles
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted a series of operations in Los Angeles on Friday, targeting criminal illegal aliens who were described as the “worst of the worst.” The operations led to the arrest of 45 individuals with convictions for heinous crimes such as murder, sexual assault, burglary, and other violent offenses.
Among those arrested was Cuong Chanh Phan, a 49-year-old illegal alien from Vietnam who had been convicted of second-degree murder. Phan was responsible for a shooting at a high school graduation party that resulted in the death of two teenagers and injuries to seven others. Another individual arrested was Rolando Veneracion-Enriquez, a 55-year-old illegal alien from the Philippines with convictions for burglary, sexual assault, and assault with intent to commit rape.
Additionally, ICE arrested Lionel Sanchez-Laguna, a 55-year-old Mexican national with a criminal history that included discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, battery, DUI, and assault with a firearm. Armando Ordaz, a 44-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was also taken into custody with a criminal record that included sexual battery and theft offenses. Francisco Sanchez-Arguello, a 38-year-old Mexican national, had been previously arrested for grand theft larceny and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Jose Gregorio Medranda Ortiz, a 42-year-old Ecuadorian national, was among those arrested for conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute. Furthermore, ICE apprehended Victor Mendoza-Aguilar, a 32-year-old Mexican national with convictions for possession of unlawful paraphernalia, controlled substances, assault with a deadly weapon, and obstruction of a public officer. Delfino Aguilar-Martinez, a 51-year-old Mexican national, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury.
Other individuals arrested during the operations included Jose Cristobal Hernandez-Buitron, a 43-year-old illegal alien from Peru with a robbery conviction, Jordan Mauricio Meza-Esquibel, a 32-year-old Honduran national convicted of distributing narcotics and domestic violence, and Jesus Alan Hernandez-Morales, a 26-year-old Mexican national with a conviction for conspiring to transport an illegal alien into the U.S.
The arrests sparked protests and clashes outside multiple locations in Los Angeles, with authorities resorting to using flash bangs to disperse the crowd. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials criticized the protests, questioning why local officials cared more about protecting violent criminals than safeguarding their own citizens. ICE’s efforts to remove dangerous criminal illegal aliens from the streets were commended by DHS, emphasizing the importance of ensuring public safety.
The operations in Los Angeles serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by ICE to target and apprehend individuals who pose a threat to public safety due to their criminal activities. The arrests highlight the need for collaboration between federal and local law enforcement agencies to address the issue of criminal illegal aliens and maintain the safety and security of communities across the country.
