Jets lose Game 4 in St. Louis after Blues score string of 2nd-period goals

The St. Louis Blues bounced back in a big way on Sunday, defeating the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 to even the playoff series at 2-2. Brayden Schenn, Tyler Tucker, and Justin Faulk each scored crucial second-period goals to lead the Blues to victory.
Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours also found the back of the net, with Jordan Binnington standing tall in goal with 30 saves. The Blues have now won an impressive 14 consecutive games at home, dating back to February 23.
“We knew where we were,” Faulk commented after the game. “We had a job to do when we came back. Start with the first one, come in and try to play well, get to our game. We knew we had to try and recreate that again today.”
Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor managed to score the lone goal for the Jets, while goaltender Connor Hellebuyck struggled and was eventually pulled from the game after allowing Thomas to score early in the third period.
Blues coach Jim Montgomery praised his players for taking advantage of favorable matchups at home and credited their investment in creating scoring opportunities. Tucker scored his first career playoff goal, but unfortunately had to leave the ice with an injury late in the game.
Neighbours also made an impact, scoring his first playoff goal to help secure the win for St. Louis. Despite falling behind early, the Blues showed resilience and determination to come back and dominate the game.
The series now shifts back to Winnipeg for Game 5, with both teams looking to gain the upper hand and take control. The Blues have proven themselves to be a formidable opponent, especially on home ice, while the Jets will be looking to regroup and come out strong in front of their own fans.
As the tension continues to build in this tightly contested series, both teams will be giving it their all to advance to the next round of the playoffs. The stage is set for an intense battle as the Blues and Jets prepare to face off once again in what promises to be a thrilling Game 5.
