Kejimkujik National Park temporarily closing due to Lee

CALEDONIA, N.S. — Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site and Kejimkujik Seaside are temporarily closing as a precaution against anticipated severe weather from hurricane Lee.

The closure is effective Friday, Sept. 15 at noon, Parks Canada announced.

Those already within the park are being asked to leave, and no new visitors will be permitted until further notice.

The agency said that guests with camping reservations spanning from Sept. 15-19 will be contacted for cancellation, and full refunds will be processed within days.

An update on the park’s status is planned for Monday, Sept. 18, at noon. Although Parks Canada intends to refresh its website and social media feeds, the agency advises visitors to directly reach out to park sites for the latest information, due to potential power outages.
