Lower Sackville man faces drug, firearms charges after police searches
A man faces drug and firearms charges following a pair of searches in Lower Sackville last week.
An RCMP news release said police executed search warrants Wednesday at a home on Tache Street and on a vehicle in a parking lot on Dispensing Way as part of an ongoing drug and weapons investigation that began in November.
Officers arrested a 50-year-old Lower Sackville man outside the residence. During the arrest, police allegedly seized 10 grams of cocaine pre-packaged for distribution and 20 hydromorphone pills.
A search of the property then resulted in the seizure of scales, over $4,000 in cash, over 30 grams of cocaine and more than 500 hydromorphone pills. In addition, officers located eight handguns and a loaded shotgun, all registered to the man.
During the search of the man’s vehicle, officers found an additional 12 grams of cocaine pre-packaged for distribution.
Terry Michel Danny Cousineau is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and 21 firearm-related offences.
Cousineau was expected to appear in Dartmouth provincial court Friday for a bail hearing.
