Lucky 13.1: That’s how much the price of gas has dropped in N.S. in two days
The number 13.1 turned out to be the lucky sum for motorists in Nova Scotia this week.
That’s how much the price of a litre of regular self-serve gas has dropped in just the past two days.
The province’s fuel price regular used its interupter clause overnight Wednesday to drop the price by five cents and Thursday night’s regular weekly adjustment shaved off another 8.1 cents.
Motorists in Zone 1, which includes the Halifax area, now pay 175.2 cents and in Cape Breton’s Zone 6, the cost is 177.2.
The price went the right way for diesel buyers, too, but not by nearly as much. Diesel was unaffected by Wednesday night’s price cut and last night the cost was trimmed by just 1.2 cents to 210.1 for Zone 1, with prices slightly higher in the province’s five other zones.
The same time a year ago, the price of gas in Nova Scotia was 153.4 cents in Zone 1.
And today’s average price across Canada, according to the Canadian Automobile Association, is 163.2 cents.
