Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Cumberland County

LINDEN, N.S. — A 21-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing in Linden on July 27.

Cumberland County District RCMP responded to the stabbing on Highway 6 just after 2:30 p.m.

Mounties learned that a 21-year-old man allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old in the shoulder before leaving a home.

Officers found the suspect on the back deck of the home and arrested him. He was then taken to the Amherst police station and kept overnight.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to a hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Lance Joseph Cameron of Linden was then charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He is set to appear in court on July 28.

The investigation is ongoing.
