Man dies after crash on Highway 7 near Bedford

RCMP says one person was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 7 near Bedford on Friday.

Police said in a release Saturday afternoon that a car was leaving Halifax when it spun out of control while passing another vehicle and rolled into the ditch shortly before 7:30 p.m.

The accident happened at the Bedford Bypass/Dartmouth Road junction.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Hillegom, died on the spot. He was the only resident.

Highway 7 was closed for several hours while a reconstruction company worked on site. The investigation into the crash continues.
