A man died after a workplace incident early Friday at a company in Inverness, NS

RCMP say they were called to the Cape Breton company at around 1 a.m. after being alerted that a man had suffered serious injuries at the scene.

Upon completion of an initial investigation, RCMP says they turned the file over to the Department of Labor as a workplace incident.

The department confirmed via email on Sunday that it is investigating a “workplace fatality” but did not provide further information.

This is the second workplace death in Nova Scotia in as many months.

In June, a 55-year-old Ontario man died after an industrial accident at a fish feed factory in Truro.
