Nova Scotia’s police watchdog is investigating after a man was injured during an arrest by Cape Breton Regional Police officers.

The man suffered serious facial injuries and a fractured elbow, a news release from the Serious Incident Response Team said Monday.

The release said officers had been “conducting surveillance” on a man as part of an investigation and a struggle took place as they were arresting him after finding him in a vehicle on a dead-end street.

The team was contacted by the Cape Breton force about the incident on July 24, the release said.
