Man seriously hurt in assault on Halifax boardwalk

Halifax Regional Police say a man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was attacked on the Halifax waterfront Sunday night.

Police said in a release they were responding to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Lower Water Street and found the unconscious victim on the boardwalk shortly before 9:45 p.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

More than an hour after the attack, police were still asking people to stay away from the area while they investigated.

There were no immediate arrests.

Police are asking anyone with information or video from the area to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
